After taking an AWS exam, isn’t the wait for the result the most nerve-racking part? It is for me. I took the result timings from my own exam experiences plus reports I found online, and summarized only “how many hours it took after the exam for the notification to arrive” in the tables below. Note: continuously updated.
Rough conclusion: if you finish the exam sometime from the morning through around 15:00, the result often arrives on the same day. Even when it is late, the notification usually arrives within 24 hours.
Rules for these tables
- “Fastest notification” uses whichever of email, AWS Certification Account, or Credly the person noticed first
- “Wait time” is basically calculated as exam finished → notification received
- If the source article does not state the exam end time, I roughly supplement it from the exam start time plus the official estimated exam duration
- Associate: exam end = exam start + 2 hours
- Professional: exam end = exam start + 2 hours 30 minutes
- Specialty: exam end = exam start + 2 hours 20 minutes
